Witness for the Prosecution

Dame Agatha Christie was born in Torquay, England in 1890.  Her works are outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. She wrote 66 novels and 14 short story collections, many featuring Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple.  Her play, The Mousetrap, is the world's longest running stage play.

Christie wrote Witness For the Prosecution as a short story in a collection published in 1925.  She rewrote the story as a play that was staged in London in 1953.  It was later made into an award-winning film.  Each version has a different ending - for maximum enjoyment, try to avoid spoilers!!
